My dad passed away. I loved him so much. He was such a good father. I wish I could been by his side. I’m so happy he could see be a lawyer; he was SO PROUD of me. I wish I could have given him grandchildren. I wish hadn’t moved so far. I loved him so much. We had a very, very special bond. He always told me he loved and I told him. We always hugged and kissed. He was such an amazing father.

That being said, his quality of life since January had been rough. He took a bad fall at home and then went to the nursing home initially for rehab but he couldn’t recover. He was in bed, getting changed, it was not any kind of life for him. He wasn’t used to that and I’m sure he wasn’t happy. I can’t selfish and want him to keep on like that forever.

I have peace knowing he was cared for in a fantastic place and saw him two weeks ago and was already booked to see him on the 28th. I was frantically trying to book a ticket today and figuring things out when he passed. I cried quite a bit making this post while here at the office downtown. My boss is here and she comforted me. I hope to fly to my mom tomorrow.

I am very grateful I had my dad till 45. He lost his parents when he was barely five years of age and was raised by his uncle and aunt. They loved him, but they weren’t his parents. He had it rough but he showed me so much love, thanks also to my mom’s influence.

He left Cuba in 1961 and never returned. I know Cuba through him. We talked so much about it and me always with my stupid phone. Over the last 10-12 years I probably have 300 videos with him. I was preparing myself for today.

We all go. I kinda wish I could go sooner to be with him, but God calls us all when it’s our time. I was beating myself up about not spending Father’s Day with him tomorrow. Oh well, let me stop.

Thanks to everyone for all your support these last few months. I really appreciate it.
